The 11th of December 2012, European Commission Representation in Bucharest

The awards ceremony took place at the European Commission Representation in Bucharest, on the 11th of December 2012. The diplomas were handed to the winnersand the candidates that won an internship in Brussels were announced as well.

Euromonitor Foundation for Excellence announced the eleven winners of the JTI European Jurnalists Scholarship program. Ceremony Announcement of diplomas and the eleven winners who will go to Brussels in a one week study visit took place at the European Commission Representation in Romania, in the presence of his Excellency, Mr. Ambassador Niculae Idu.

Big winners of the JTI European Journalists Scholarships program, in addition at internship in Brussels, they will win 3-week training period at a prestigious European media organizations, are:

  1. Victoria Kriukova – Publika TV Republica Moldova
  2. Bogdan Alexandru Mugescu – Money.ro.TV
  3. Oana Andreea Slemco – Intermedia TV Suceava

JTI European Scholarships for Journalists program includes three stages of training:

  • a training specialist in Romania supported by European relations specialists;
  • a study trip for a week in Brussels, during which journalists will have the opportunity to meet and discuss with officials of the European Union;
  • internship training for three weeks in prestigious European media organizations.

JTI European Scholarships for Journalists Program was launched in 2007, the year of accession to the European Union as a continuation of the internship program initiated by the National Forum Foundation / Freedom House in the 90s, with the support of the U.S. Government, and later, in 2000 with JTI funding.

Since 2010, JTI European Scholarships for Journalists program is organized by the Foundation for Excellence Euromonitor, and since 2011, the program expanded in Moldova.
